HOW DOES THIS PACKET WORK?

Day 1: Each week begins with a PowerPoint lesson which is attached in the MAIN folder. Each PowerPoint lesson begins with an introduction of the part of speech, a definition and examples. Then, students will have opportunities for guided practice through turn and talks and dry erase board activities outlined in the PowerPoint.

Day 2: Students will complete student notebook activities. Full directions are provided as well as photos of the finished product. These can be printed on white (and students can color in) or on colored copy paper.

Day 3: Student Games: Students will “read the room”, engage in partner games, board games and snowball fights, just to name a few.

Day 4: Students will complete independent practice worksheets. Depending on the skill, some weeks will have more independent practice. These sheets can be used for Day 4 independent practice AND for homework and/or

morning work.

Day 5: Students will take a “Quick Check Assessment.” All answer sheets are attached. These quick checks are also designed to resemble some of the formats used on state tests.

In case you want to prepare student packets for just the worksheets, I have attached a separate PDF without answers in the MAIN file folder.
